First Peoples Principles of Learning

The First Peoples’ Principles of Learning emphasize that learning is holistic, experiential, and deeply connected to relationships, culture, and the land. These principles remind me that education is not just about academic achievement, but about supporting the whole child, emotionally, socially, spiritually, and intellectually. I value how they highlight the importance of identity, community, and respect for Indigenous knowledge, encouraging learning that is meaningful and relevant.

In my classroom, I hope to create opportunities for students to learn through experience, build strong relationships, and recognize that learning is a lifelong journey connected to who they are and where they come from.
